ITANAGAR, Nov 9: Chairperson, Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) Gumri Ringu on Monday in her maiden visit to the Child Care Institution (CCI) run by the Missionaries of Charity, Naharlagun reviewed its activities.
Interacting with the CCI’s missionaries, superintendent and staff, the visiting team inquired about the reports on the number of children referred by the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and Childline Itanagar to the centre. The Commission’s chairperson was informed that the centre has received 43 children from CWC Itanagar/Papum Pare and Childline, out of which 37 were handed over to their biological parents through CWC Capital Complex and Childline.
While appreciating the services rendered by the CCI, Ringu asked the staffers to share the challenges faced by the organization during the pandemic so that the Commission can find out appropriate ways and means to help them.
The chairperson was accompanied by Jumtum Minga, Ngurang Achung, Niri Chongrowju and Tame Achum.
