ITANAGAR, Nov 3: A team from the Arunachal Pradesh State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (APSCPCR) led by its Chairperson Gumri Ringu on Tuesday paid their maiden visit to Oju Welfare Association (OWA) in Naharlagun, the shelter home for inmates to take stock of its activities and schemes.
The team observed that OWA is providing all required necessities amid COVID-19 pandemic even without any grant. Besides inspecting the maintenance and hygiene facilities, the team interacted with the Manager, Women Help Line (WHL) who was suggested to report all cases related to juvenile justice to the Commission, irrespective of their nature. The Commission’s Chairperson also urged the OWA authorities to provide free vitamin supplements to children and conduct free annual medical camps. The team was overwhelmed by the yeoman services provided by OWA headed by Ratan Anya for the upliftment of women and children in distress.
The Commission’s Member Secretary Kirken Lomi and members Jumtum Minga, Ngurang Achung and Tame Achung were part of the team.
