Itanagar, Nov 11: A review meeting on status of Highway Projects and construction of Airport at Hollongi, district hospitals and TRIHMS was held under the Chairmanship of Chief Secretary Naresh Kumar at Civil Secretariat, today.
All the important road projects were reviewed by the Chief Secretary in presence of Principal Secretary Health & Family Welfare and Finance Dr. Sharat Chauhan, PWD Commissioner Kaling Tayeng, Commissioner Padmini Singla, Secretary Civil Aviation Swapnil Naik, DC Capital and PWD Chief Engineers.
Status of Roing-Hunli and Hunli-Anini Road (under 06 Packages) with the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd (NHIDCL); Itanagar-Banderdewa (NH415) under the PWD; Potin-Pangin (NH-13); Joram-Koloriang road and other important projects were reviewed by the Chief Secretary.
Similarly, construction and upgradation of District Hospitals and CHCs at Tezu, Khonsa, Roing, Changlang, Aalo, Ziro, Namsai, Boleng, Basar, Raga etc were also reviewed in detail today.
Later, the status of Hollongi Airport works were reviewed and some issues were also discussed in the meeting. It was informed that 67 % of the construction of 4 Lane approach road to the Greenfield Airport area at Hollongi (Itanagar) has been completed as on 10th November.
The Airport in Hollongi will be the Greenfield Airport in Arunachal Pradesh with a target date of completion in August 2022. Similarly, target dates have been fixed for all the other projects reviewed in the meeting today. The Chief Secretary asked the implementing departments to not delay the projects and finish the projects within the set targets.
The Chief Secretary, stating that the projects especially the Airport will be centerpiece and one of the main centres of attraction of Arunachal Pradesh, stressed that the quality and design of the projects should not be compromised at any cost.
He also asked the Deputy Commissioners, Chief Engineers and nodal officers to frequently visit the sites in order to supervise and monitor the works.
He further asked the implementing departments to make good use of the working season and expedite the works for early and timely completion of the projects.
