PASIGHAT, Oct 10: In a significant high-level review meeting held here today, the Chief Secretary of the state Manish Kumar Gupta, presided over the presentation of the District Development Report (DDR) for East Siang, commending the district's progressive trajectory while calling for sustained and collaborative efforts.
The meeting, conducted under the chairmanship of the Chief Secretary, saw a comprehensive presentation by East Siang Deputy Commissioner Sonalika Jiwani. The DC detailed the district's performance, outlining a spectrum of completed projects, ongoing works, and upcoming schemes. Presenting an overview, she also informed how the district is addressing the shortfalls in development and also technical hurdles being faced by the executing government departments in the district.
Reviewing the report, the Chief Secretary acknowledged the commendable work carried out by the district. "East Siang has carried forward its work in a progressive way under the capable leadership of its Deputy Commissioner," he stated.
He further issued a clear directive to the administrative machinery, emphasizing that while pushing for continuous improvement; it is paramount to "ensure the administrative machinery moves forward with a unified purpose, keeping healthy development in the first place." This statement underscores the state's focus on balanced and sustainable growth across all sectors, especially in view of newer development opportunities in the belt. 
The review meeting was attended by a quorum of senior bureaucrats namely Vivek Pandey, Commissioner UD & Divisional Commissioner East, Sonam Chombay, Commissioner Hydro Power, Yashpal Garg, Commissioner Member Secretary, Amjak Tak, Commissioner Education, Vivek H.P, Secretary Health, Abo Tayeng, Secretary, Sports & Youth Affairs, R.K Sharma, Secretary Planning/ Power, Dr. Sonal Swaroop, Secretary RD&PR, A.K Singh, Secretary, Land Management and all Heads of Departments (HODs) of East Siang district, ensuring a holistic inter-departmental approach to the development planning.
Earlier in the meeting, East Siang Superintendent of Police Pankaj Lamba also highlighted report on law and order of the district. 
The meeting concluded with a resolve to address the identified challenges and build upon the successes to further accelerate the development index of East Siang. Meeting’s vote of Thanks was given by Additional Deputy Commissioner (Headquarter) Ms. Pebika Lego, IAS.
