ITANAGAR, Sep 15: The Chief Justice of Gauhati High Court, Justice RM Chhaya called on Governor Brig. (Dr.) BD Mishra (Retd.) at Raj Bhavan, Itanagar today. They discussed about the way forward to address the pendency of cases in the courts.
The Governor expressed confidence that Gauhati High Court will continue to maintain the high standards of professional ethics and values in promoting social justice, safeguarding liberty and protecting human rights.
He congratulated the Chief Justice for the newly inaugurated Gauhati High Court Museum. He said that people will be benefited from the museum to know the historical developments of the high court and the younger generation will learn about the legal history of the Northeast.
Hitakshi R Chaya, wife of the Chief Justice, Registrar General, Gautam Baruah, Registrar cum Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, Kuntal Sharma Pathak, Secretary to Chief Justice Nirod Sarma, and Registrar, Gauhati High Court, Itanagar Bench, Budi Habung, accompanied the Chief Justice.
