CHANGLANG, Jun 25: Deputy Commissioner Changlang Dr. Devansh Yadav vide an order issued on June 22 last has directed all the license holders of firearms in the district to deposit the excess number of these arms (more than 2) within July 21 next.
Along with this directive, persons possessing air guns/rifles having muzzle energy exceeding 20 joules/15 ft lbs/bore exceeding 0.177 inches or 4.5 mm without license have also been asked to surrender such items to the nearest police station at the earliest. The order has been issued as per the provisions of the Arms (Amendment) Act 2019, Arms Rules 2016 and relevant government order dated April 28, 2021. DIPRO
