Changlang , Sep 12: Continuing its fight against drug menace in the district, Changlang district Anti Drug Squad arrested a drug peddler and recovered illicit contraband from his possession.
Acting on a tip off about movement of drug peddler in Kangla village under Yatdam circle,the Anti Drug Squad led by Inspector C Yangchang and his team under the supervision of SP Changlang conducted raid at the village. During the raid at the residence of one suspected peddler Latpong Sapong, the ADS recovered 12 bundles of suspected opium smeared in cotton cloths weighing approx 1.893 kg, three opium inhaling kits etc. Further,SP Changlang Mihin Gambo urged all drug addicts to come forward voluntarily and undergo self-rehabilitation in the de-addiction camps being run in the district by the District Administration under Nasha Mukht Bharat Abhiyan.
