ITANAGAR, Jan 20: The Arunachal Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) said that the BJP led central government should act on their repeated verbal assurance to ensure safety, security and territorial integrity of Arunachal Pradesh.
The statement came while reacting to the recent alleged abduction of an Arunachalee boy by the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA).
Speaking to reporters at Rajiv Gandhi Bhawan here today, APCC president Bosiram Siram said this is not the first instance when a youth from the state was abducted by the Chinese army. In September 2020, five youths were abducted by the Chinese army from Sera-7 area of Nacho in Upper Subansiri district.
He said the state government along with the central government should immediately bring out a mechanism to end the repeated abduction of youths settled in the international borders of the country.
“China has always been a threat to the country, especially Arunachal Pradesh. The BJP led government should act on the matter rather than giving deliberations. Therefore, we appeal to the government to immediately act on the matter and bring the boy back home safely,” he said.
