New DELHI, Mar 28: The Government of India is planning to give maximum telecommunication connectivity to the frontier state with more than two thousand additional mobile towers in addition to the already approved 980 4G Mobile towers the work of which is currently being implemented by Bharti Hexacom, said an official in a press release.
Information Technology and Communication Minister Wangki Lowang alongwith Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, IT & Communication Chairman Doni Nich in a meeting with union minister Ashwini Vaishnaw at Rail Bhawan on Monday discussed several issue relating to information technology, communication sector and technology.
Considering the strategic importance of Arunachal Pradesh, Govt.of India is planning to provide maximum telecommunication connectivity to the frontier state with more than 2000 additional towers in addition to the already approved 980 4G Mobile towers the work of which is currently being implemented by Bharti Hexacom, a release said.
The union minister also re-assured to approve expansion of additional State Wide Area Network(SWAN) sites to which he directed the concern officer of the Ministry to expedite the process of approval at the earliest.
The Minister IT&C Wangki Lowang requested the Union Minister to wave off the e-office licensing costs to which the latter assured special rate for North Eastern states.
The issue of low bandwidth of VSAT projects implemented under BharatNet by BBNL was also raised wherein the Union Minister has assured to take up the matter with Department of Space in consultation with the concern Ministry.
"We will try our best to pursue with central government in regards to telecommunication and communication sector to improve the communication, information technology of state and all round development," said IT & Communication Chairman Doni Nich.
The meeting was also attended by Secretary, ITC Anirudh S Singh, Director ITC Neelam Yapin Tana, Joint Director Hano Takka, Assistant Director IT department Namgey Wangmu.
