Itanagar, Feb 25: A Diagnostic and Hearing Aid Fitment Camp which is an initiative of the Mumbai based Ali Yavar Jung National Institute for the Hearing Handicapped (AYJNIHH), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, organised in collaboration with Association of Past Pupils of Don Bosco (APPDB) and Don Bosco Youth Centre (DBYC) was inaugurated today here at Don Bosco Youth Centre by Minister for Agriculture, Horticulture etc Er. Tage Taki.
Taki while speaking on the supreme importance of health facilities, opined that in Arunachal health services are yet to achieve excellence even in urban areas. He congratulated APPDB and DBYC for facilitating the initiative of AYJNIHH and organizing the programme and called upon the organizers to come up with more such programmes at district levels.
HoD of AYJNIHH Dr. RP Sharma expressed happiness over coming to Arunachal Pradesh after a gap of 25 years, recalling that the first such camp was held in the state capital twenty five years ago.
Earlier while welcoming the guests, Delege for Don Bosco Alumni Itanagar and Director of Don Bosco College Fr. C. C Jose SDB showered praises on the doctors and experts from AYJNIHH for making the camp possible. Representing the Past Pupils of Don Bosco Kime Aya, IPS thanked the expert team from Mumbai for collaborating with APPDB and providing the exemplary humanitarian service for the state’s people.
Six doctors and experts from AYJNIHH are expected to interact with a large number of persons suffering from hearing impairment during the camp scheduled for February 25-26 who will receive counselling and hearing aids as per necessity. Children from Donyi Polo Mission for Visual and Hearing Impairment presented an opening song at the inaugural function and led the national anthem, which was a touching moment of the function.
