BASAR, Apr 2: A community based organisation, Lego Lemgo Welfare Society has protested the use of “Bame” instead of Bam in all government correspondence and milestone of BRTF Road as reference point of Bam trijunction under Basar Sub-division of West Siang district.

The LLWS led by its president called on Additional Deputy Commissioner Basar on March 28 last and registered its sentiments over the misspelling of Bam as Bame.

In official correspondence such as Trans Highway, railway survey, print media as well as milestone of BRTF road it has been mentioned as Bame which is a misnomer and depicts wrong notion in minds of commuters and also touches the sentiments of the residents of Bam, the society opined.

After patient hearing ADC T. Bage appreciated the appeal and issued instruction to Commander of 92 RCC,44 BRTF Aalo,77&128 RCC, 23 BRTF Daporijo and Commander 105 RCC, 756 BRTF Yingkiong to replace Bame with Bam in all milestones in BRTF road as well as in other official correspondences. LLWS further appealed all print media house to help in wide publicity to write as Bam while taking reference point trijunction between Daporijo, Aalo and Akajan in future too.
