ITANAGAR, Jul 18: The Arunachal Pradesh Catholic Association (APCA) received the Centenary Flag of India Catholic Union (AICU) which arrived at the state capital on Tuesday. The flag is the part of the centenary celebration and has been traveling from New Delhi to different Catholic Dioceses all over the country to spread the message of love, peace and brotherhood among Indians and also to foster the spirit of unity among Catholic Laity.
The flag was been received by Secretary-General, APCA, Nabam Pekhi and to mark the celebration a special Mass prayer was conducted this morning at St.Joseph Cathedral Nyokum Lapang Itanagar. Rev.Fr.Jacob, Vicar General, Itanagar Diocese along with Priests from Seppa, Palizi and Naharlagun lead the Mass prayer.
The programme was also attended by Tok Butum, AICU Coordinator for North East, Taw Tebin, President APCA, District Presidents of APCA, Senior Church leaders, nuns and a large number of believers.
Founded in 1919, AICU is completing 100 years of its existence in India and to mark the centenary celebration, the AICU is organizing a three day centenary event from August 23-25 in New Delhi.
