ITANAGAR, Jul 21: Covid situation in the state on Wednesday exhibited the same pattern noticeable for the past few weeks, recoveries lagging behind fresh cases. And with one casualty, death toll is now 204.
Casualties
An 80-yr old male Covid patient from Siang district who was suffering from TB and was not vaccinated died today due to ARDS with Covid pneumonia at DCH Pasighat.
Recoveries, New Cases, Sample Collection
New cases stood at 418 (asymptomatic 216; symptomatic 202) on Wednesday evening, a decline from the previous day’s 476. In ICC, 111 (positivity rate 12%) cases were recorded, followed by Lower Subansiri (31), Papum Pare and Upper Subansiri (29 each), Tawang (28) and West Siang (24; 9 % positivity). Among the total 365 recoveries, the first 5 districts were ICC (132), West Kameng (37), Papum Pare (29), Changlang (23) and Longding  (21). The active caseload of the state is now 4384 and recoveries 39634. A total of 6116 samples were collected from across the state on the day (903 from the ICC, the highest among all districts).
Vaccination
Under the '18 years and above' age category, 3950 took their 1st jabs (61% coverage so far) and 3382 their 2nd (14% coverage).
Occupancy status
58 at DCH Chimpu, 39 at SQF Lekhi, Nil at DCHC Midpu, 10 at DCH Pasighat and 25 at DCHC as of July 21 (8 pm ).
Containment Zones
The total number of containment zones in the state spread across 15 districts has now increased to 61 and the total number of Covid positive cases in such zones has risen to 1009.
