RONO HILLS, Apr 29: A two-day workshop on ‘Employability Skills and Career Counselling’ organized by Rajiv Gandhi University’s Career Counselling Cell, in collaboration with Career Launcher, New Delhi began today in the university’s Department of Education.
RGU Vice-Chancellor and chief patron of the programme, Professor Saket Kushwaha highlighted the techniques of achieving excellence in any particular career and suggested the participants to add more degrees to their educational qualification. “Commoners will never get a job and one has to put the self above minimum basic qualifications,” he said emphasizing that anyone seeking a job must have a strategic plan, good understanding and knowledge about the particular job and optimize one’s abilities accordingly.
RGU Registrar Professor Tomo Riba thanked the VC for keeping space for such programmes in university calendar and expressed his appreciation for the organizing team. “Getting a job is an art which requires key skills and training and therefore it is important for the youth to attend such programmes,” he remarked.
In-charge of the RGU Placement Cell, Professor Tasi Kaye reflected on the importance of the programme and said that it would definitely mould the minds of the youth towards proper selection of career. Earlier, Coordinator of the Career Counselling Cell Dr. Boa Reena Tok highlighted the objectives and significance of the workshop.
The programme was also attended by Dean, Students’ Welfare, Professor Kesang Degi, Amit Dhar & Rahul Kumar Basak from Career Launcher, faculty members, research scholars and students of the university. RGU Press Release
