Bomdila, Jun 7: In a joint operation by the State Forest Dept and Central Agency Wildlife Crime Control Bureau (WCCB), a full body skin carcass of a Clouded Leopard was seized from a garment shop at Bomdila. The arrested accused caught red-handed with the wildlife article is a 42-year-old APST woman running the said shop. The case has been registered in the Chief Judicial Magistrate Court, Bomdila.
Hunting or illegal possession of any article of a Schedule -I Species such as Clouded Leopard is liable for prosecution with a term imprisonment of minimum 3 years up to 7 years under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972. 
The joint operation team comprised of Mobile Squad Western Arunachal Circle officials led by Mito Rumi, Addl DCF and Bomdila Range officials led by T.D. Megaji, RFO with intelligence support of WCCB SRO Guwahati.
