ITANAGAR, Feb  22: Homage was paid to the late Risso Tari, Tsering Wangdi and Biki Ruja, who were killed during the PRC unrest in the state last year by friends and family members through observance of “Martyrs Day” today here at the Tennis Court.
Visitors in large numbers paid floral tributes to the portrait of the victims and observed a one-minute silence in their remembrance.
The programme was attended by a few injured victims of the anti-PRC movement, SP Capital Tumme Amo, entrepreneur Haa Tatu and President of All Law Students’ Union (ALSU) Yurum Tamin etc.
Remembering the hardships faced by the people during the anti-PRC agitation, organizing Chairman Risso Kiagung said that statues of the trio will be erected at the Tennis Court premises in order to honour their supreme sacrifices made to safeguard indigenous rights.
He also appealed the state government to officially declare the ground as Martyrs’ Ground and bring all the perpetrators who were involved in the killings to justice. 
Haa Tatu in his speech asked the committee to conduct a  ‘Martyrs’ cup tournament similar to the  Hangpan Dada tournament citing  the trio were no less than soldiers. 
SP Capital appealed the citizens to maintain peace in the state in order to avoid such unfortunate incidents in future and sought cooperation from public in fighting the drug menace. 
Meanwhile, the gathering also remembered senior journalist late Taro Chatung, who played an important role during the anti-PRC agitation through their prayers. 
Biki Nera, father of late Biki Ruja and others spoke on the occasion.
