ITANAGAR, Jul 11: Continuing its checking drive on COVID appropriate behaviour and motor vehicles, the Capital Police on Sunday challaned at least 591 people amounting to Rs 1,74,150 from COVID protocol offenders. Moreover, 337 people were fined for violating MV rules and an amount of Rs 1,38,400 realised from them. Teams led by IGP Chuku Apa with SP Capital, SDPOs Itanagar/Naharlagun, DySP Traffic and OCs in Capital Complex in coordination with Magistrate ADC Capital and EAC Naharlagun carried out special checking drive for violators of COVID appropriate behavior and MV Act. "Such drives will be carried out at regular intervals to continue our fight against COVID. Capital police appeals to people to follow COVID appropriate behavior, wear mask, maintain social distance and support us in the continuing the fight against COVID," stated SP(ICR) Jimmy Chiram.
