ITANAGAR, Jun 27: The capital complex got its first vending zone accommodating 33 vendors at Gandhi Market with its inauguration by the Deputy Commissioner Capital today.

Deputy Commissioner Prince Dhawan lauded the efforts of All Arunachal Pradesh Hawkers & Street Vendors Federation (AAPHSVF) and IMC in changing the system which will go a long way in shifting the vendors from streets to a safer place for marketing and earnings for the family. He said that few more vending zones are being created in other parts of the capital complex and will be inaugurated soon.

He assured to provide dustbin and place for storage of vegetables of the vendors. He also declared the Nyokum Lapang to P Sector (0 Point Tinali) as ‘No Vending Zone’ and appealed that no one will be allowed to put their goods for sale in the streets henceforth.

IMC Chief Councillor Kipa Kaku, IMC Dy. Chief Councillor Tarh Nachung and IMC Chief Municipal Executive Officer  (CMEO) Habung Lapmpung also spoke on the occasion.

Jackets and identity cards were also distributed through Town Vending Committee, Itanagar to the vendors.
