ITANAGAR, Jul 25: The District Medical Officer, Capital Complex Mandip Perme on Saturday gave an official clarification regarding a widely shared report on social media which claimed that five people have escaped from a paid quarantine centre in Naharlagun and are still untraceable since July 19.
The DMO while confirming that he had filed an FIR on July 23 after Medical Officer, Naharlagun reported to him that five persons were evading/absconding from being lifted to covid care center after testing positive in Antigen / RTPCR at Paid QF, however, clarified that they had not escaped rather test were conducted upon them as a part of primary and secondary contacts tracing exercise.
"People misunderstood that they escaped from paid QF whereas if they were staying there tracking them would not be a problem for us," he said.
" During testing, the five people have given incorrect phone numbers which made it difficult to trace them," he disclosed.
" Therefore after we failed to trace them for two-three days, I lodged an FIR requesting the police to help us in tracing the missing person as they pose a serious threat to the community, " he said.
"Soon after a copy of the FIR was shared, the four missing persons, who have probably seen the post voluntarily, returned to us," he said.
