ITANAGAR, May 10: With the agenda of reviewing the monsoon preparedness of Itanagar Capital Complex, a virtual meeting was convened today by Deputy Commissioner, ICR Talo Potom with all stakeholders.
Emphasizing on the need for greater coordination among stakeholders to tackle monsoon-related disasters effectively, the DC underscored the necessity to keep spirits high keeping in view of the prevailing Covid pandemic.
Commissioner, IMC Cheechung Chuku and EE Highway Er. Nani Tath who participated in the meeting were directed to remove the hoardings along the highway. Sanitization of all Covid-prone strategic areas of the ICR will be kicked off from Tuesday, the DC informed and discussed other issues like garbage management, segregation of waste etc. with the Commissioner. While reviewing the ongoing works of line departments like PWD, PHED, Electrical etc., he asked them to work in coordination with each other. EE CDA Er. Tarh Gungkap briefed about the arrangements of men and machinery as part of the monsoon preparation.
The PWD department was instructed by the DC to clear the choked drains before, during and after monsoon and clear all accumulated garbage immediately. The EE Highway and M/s TK Engineering and Consortium Pvt. Ltd. were asked to clear the roads from debris in their respective areas of operation during monsoon. The DC also asked the EEs, Electrical (Itanagar and Naharlagun) to check the faults of electrical lines on a daily basis. The EE (PHED) was directed to ensure drinking water supply in the entire township and carry out chlorination from time to time. The DC also sought cooperation of the DDSE to carry out IEC activities in coordination with students after the schools reopen and in setting up relief camps.
