ITANAGAR, May 11: Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex Talo Potom today while interacting with the religious leaders in a virtual meeting urged them to generate awareness amongst their believers to ensure that Covid appropriate behaviour is followed by all.
Responding to the appeal, the religious leaders assured their cooperation in every decision of the state government. The DC asked them to strictly follow the SOPs as issued by the District Administration and the state government. Medical Officer Dr Maga Rija briefed them about the importance of vaccination and other SOPs that need to be strictly followed. Later on the day in a meeting with the corporators led by Mayor Tame Phassang, the Team IMC informed that all corporators are ensuring that containment orders are being properly followed in their respective jurisdiction. DMO Dr Mandip Perme highlighted the importance of vaccines and briefed about the measures needed to be followed. He further requested the IMC corporators to provide necessary assistance to the contact tracing teams as and when required. Some important  issues under Hamara Arunachal Abhiyan were also discussed.
Meanwhile, the DC also reviewed the status of implementation of containment orders with SP Capital Jimmy Chiram and respective Magistrates through a separate virtual meeting in the evening. DIPRO

Recoveries surpass new infections; Casualty count increases to 68 with 4 more deaths

ITANAGAR, May 11:  In an exact repeat of the situation seen on Monday, 4 more citizens died due to Covid in Arunachal Pradesh today taking the state’s death toll to 68.
In Peon Line, Tezu in Lohit district, a 44-year old male who tested Covid positive expired at his residence on Tuesday following a cardiac arrest. A 57-year male from Legi Complex in the Bank Tinali area of ICR who was suffering from multiple comorbidities died at DCH Chimpu. At DCH Pasighat a 60-year old female diagnosed with Covid pneumonia who was referred from DCHC Basar, Lepa Rada district died due Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome. Meanwhile, a 45-year old male from New Colony, Jairampur in Changlang district suffering from various comorbidities died at AMCH, Dibrugarh.
With the addition of 205 new cases on the day, with ICR accounting for the bulk (35), the state’s active Covid count is now 1924. However, recoveries surpassed infections on the day and with 232 new patients emerging victorious over Covid ( 95 alone from ICR), the recovery tally of the state has risen to 18583. In terms of percentage, the state’s Covid recovery rate currently is 90.32 %, active cases rate 9.35% and casualty rate 0.33%. In the ICR, as on Tuesday there were 512 active Covid patients. With 275 RATs, 22 RT-PCRs and 5 TrueNats the total tests conducted on the day in the ICR were 302 and 25 patients were in home isolation.
2993 samples were also collected across the state on Tuesday. Currently there are 39 Covid patients at DCH Chimpu, 57 at SQF Lekhi, 9 at DCHC Midpu, 7 at DCH Pasighat and 2 at DCHC.
