Itanagar, Sep 23: “Freedom 2 Walk & Cycle” an event to commemorate the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi would be conducted  on 2nd October as part of Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav.
In this regard a meeting was convened today by the Deputy Commissioner Capital Itanagar Talo Potom with the CEO ISCDCL Dahey Sangno, EAC Datum Gadi and other stakeholders to discuss the preparation for the event.
The CEO informed that the events are being organised with an aim to promote healthy habits of walking, cycling, etc. He sought cooperation of all stakeholders and urged them to ensure mass participation of people right from 7 years of age to 75 years of age.  
He informed that interested persons may participate in any of the event either walking or cycling. The cycling event is being organised in collaboration with Itanagar Cycling Club, he further informed.
The EAC informed that both the events would be flagged off from Niti Vihar and culminate at DK convention center Itanagar on the day, followed by other events of the day.
Duties and responsibilities to be assigned for the successful conduct of the event was discussed in detail with all the stakeholders.
The Corporators of Ward 1 to 12 assured their cooperation for the successful conduct of the event. DIPRO
