Itanagar, May 14: The capital administration alongwith police today removed construction materials and vehicles dumped along the National Highway.
This was carried out as per the direction of the District Magistrate Itanagar Capital Complex Talo Potom IAS, by EAC Datum Gadi, SDPO Kamdam Sikom, AE Highway Nangbia Tedi,LO to DC Sanjiv Chakraborty alongwith Police team.
Earlier, the DM vide an order had directed all concerned to remove construction materials stating that these endanger human life by narrowing the road/ footpath and thereby increasing the risk of accidents while also causing traffic congestions. Moreover with the onset of monsoon, there are chances that these materials may clog drains leading to overflow.
The team also removed 12 numbers of off road vehicles from the National Highway. The DM had earlier directed the owners and proprietors of road side garages to remove all such vehicles from National Highway, State Highway and Sector roads which creates traffic nuisance and causes hindrance to free flow of traffic thereby accentuating the traffic congestion.
EAC Gadi informed that more such off-road vehicles lying unattended along the highway will be removed in the coming days.
