ITANAGAR, Mar 1: A coordination meeting to discuss issues pertaining to One Stop Centre, Naharlagun was held today under the Chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Region Komkar Dulom here at his office chamber.
Taking stock of the working of One Stop Centre (Sakhi) which is under the Ministry of Women and Child Development to support women affected by violence in private and public places, the DC urged its representatives to continue their good work. Capital SP Jimmy Chiram while assuring to extend all-possible support to the OSC, also committed to depute a Police Facilitation Officer as per guidelines to advise on laws necessary to be invoked for issues related to violence against women and for helping them in lodging FIRs. Centre Administrator, OSC Nada Nampi through a PPT informed about the cases handled by them till date and highlighted that during the pandemic, the highest cases received were that of domestic violence. EAC (Welfare) Datum Gadi, Secretary, Singcha Ghene Welfare Society Kani Nada Maling and Deputy Director, ICDS Aryoma Lowangcha also attended the meeting.
Beautiful paintings made by young artist Advocate Rupa Naji depicting women’s struggle with the theme ‘Women Empowerment’ were also presented to all. DIPRO
