ITANAGAR, Jul 24:Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar Capital Complex, Prince Dhawan, today held a meeting with various departments in connection with the celebration of Independence Day on August 15 next at Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar.  During the meeting, the EAC Festival, Tame Yajum informed that the parade rehearsal would begin from August 3 next.

Directing all the departments to ensure arrangement works are completed before rehearsals begin, the DC also briefed the departments of PWD, PHED, and Power regarding the construction works, sitting arrangements, provision of drinking water; electricity etc. and urged them to work together as a team for smooth hosting of the event.

 The DC directed the DDSE Capital Complex to furnish the list of the student parade contingents at the earliest and the principal PTC regarding arrangement of ceremonial parade.

 The DC also briefed the Director Art & Culture on their role and further asked him to ensure the arrangement of cultural troupes. After briefing all the departments concerned on their duties and responsibilities, the DC asked them to work in coordination with each other so that the Independence Day could be celebrated in its true spirit. Moreover, to celebrate the day in a grand way, the DC also proposed that stalls may be set up at the park by various departments.

Among others, ADC Talom Dupak, EAC Itanagar Jiken Bomjen and officials from various departments attended the meeting.
