ITANAGAR, Aug 2:Itanagar Capital district administration in view of several complaints and appeals from local people and social activists regarding polluting of Water Treatment Plant (WTP) area and its intake area near Senki river in Senki View by bathing, washing and other activities, has directed the PHED, Itanagar division to hire private security personnel from the office of Deputy Commissioner, Itanagar for deployment at the Water Treatment Plant and also to put up signboard prohibiting such activities.

Terming it a serious concern, DC Prince Dhawan said that as there acute scarcity of water supply in capital complex due to breakdown of water supply system of Itanagar as well as Naharlagun these spots should be kept clean and hygienic. However the water supplied through Senki View are being carried out by tanker for supply to various colonies and sector and is safe and treated water, the DC quoted as informed by PHED officials.

The DC also disclosed that he has directed the capital police to conduct patrolling in Senki View and Senki Park area at regular intervals for safety and security of the WTP and area.
