ITANAGAR, Feb 28: The eviction drive to clear structures for link road from SP Office to ESS sector continued on Sunday.
"At least 100 structures will be demolished and cleared for the construction of link road, " informed Additional District Magistrate, Talo Potom.
The original measurement for the road was 24 metres but it has to be reduced to a breadth to 12metres because  many structures are coming under the old measurements. However, in future we may go for 24 meters if needed, the ADM said.
He also urged the denizens to cooperate with the administration for the smooth eviction process so that the proposed road is completed within timeframe.
There will be no differentiation between poor or rich when it comes to the eviction process. I will ensure that structures coming under Right of Way will be demolished irrespective. Moreover, I will never compromise on any political pressure but if there is any legal issues, I have to follow it, stated the ADM.
“I am ready to give more space if required. If the road is good, we are happy. We need to make space for it,”  said Biri Tadung , a denizen of Dokum Colony . He further added, “had I known earlier, I would not have built my structure that way.”
Further advocating for not seeking any compensation for projects like road, he also said that he will not take any compensation.
Eviction drive has been going on to widen the road from SP office in Ganga to ESS sector tri-junction here since Saturday.
