NAMSAI, Nov 18: Hundreds of people joined the candlelight march held demanding justice for late Sangam Namshoom at Namsai today. The 28-year-old was found dead in mysterious condition near Digaru, Lohit District on November 14 last.
The march was been organized by students organizations-- All Tai Khampti Singpho Students Union, All Namsai Area Youth Association, All Namsai District Students Union including the Tai Khampti District Society.
Terming the incident as unfortunate, President TKDS, Chow Siharaja Choutang requested law enforcing agencies to initiate free and fair investigation in the case. Culprits must be given exemplary punishment, he added.
We have been receiving reports that our brother late Sangam Namshoom has been murdered, so we request the concerned authority to immediately arrest the culprits or to constitute a Special Investigation Team to solve the case, said President ATKSSU, Chow Kohana Choupoo. Demanding justice, President, ANAYA Chow Kyawon Singkai urged the administration and investigation agency to immediately solve the mysterious death case, while cautioning to launch a rigorous movement.
Earlier, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sange Thinley informed that a case has been registered at Sunpura Police station under 302 IPC. He also informed that four people have been arrested and further investigation is still in process.
