ITANAGAR, Dec 22:  In the wake of the delay in recruitment of 183 candidates under compassionate ground in the Police department, the said candidates resorted to a two-day sit-in protest here today.
Speaking to the media, representative of the candidates said that the Home Minister had earlier assured to absorb the 183 candidates. In 2019, Minister had assured us that every year in the month of December, post will be created to absorb the compassionate candidates but till now nothing has been done.
Department has sanctioned 27 posts in 2019 but that too has been delayed. Moreover we had been submitting memorandum one after another since 2019 to the authority but nothing positive has come, added the representative.
He further urged the authority to immediately conduct the recruitment for the compassionate ground candidates.
