TEZU, Aug 20: A few of the candidates who participated in the recruitment exercise for various posts advertised by the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Lohit on January 30 last have alleged anomalies in the process.
Candidates who didn’t make it to the list on Thursday submitted a representation to the Deputy Commissioner, Lohit seeking his intervention and requesting an inquiry into the matter. In the representation, one of the aggrieved candidates, informed that one Non-APST candidate who has been selected for the post of Security Guard was actually in the last position in the physical tests, whereas the mark sheet featured his name at the top which has caused great surprise to all candidates. He further disclosed that the father of the said candidate is serving under Tezu ICDS.
The representation further alleged that the scrutiny process of applications was not done properly and some of the applications had also been rejected without stating the grounds. It further mentioned that the candidates who were eligible for interviews were not communicated about the dates and as such many of them had failed to turn up in the interview’s final phase. In another instance of discrepancy, a few selected candidates who had not even passed the physical tests were allowed to appear in written exams and some even got selected for the post, the representation added.
When contacted, the Deputy Director-IDCS Lohit, SK Linngi categorically refused the allegations and said the recruitment was done on merit basis only. “However, the department will extend all support if the higher authority issues direction for re-conduct of the interview,” he stated.
