Bomdila, Aug 6: A meeting was held at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner Bomdila in connection with the deteriorating conditions of BCT and OKSRT roads which connects the West Kameng, East Kameng and Tawang districts to the rest of the country.
The meeting was attended by the Commanders of 14 BRTF and 42 BRTF, CBOs and Student Organizations, Administrative Officers, Department of Forest, Service Providers and Department of Power (Electrical) of West Kameng district and was chaired by DC West Kameng Dr. Sonal Swaroop in presence of MLA 5-Kalaktang Dorjee Wangdi Kharma. The CBOs and Student Organizations unanimously asked the BRO authorities to immediately improve and supplement the machineries deployed in the said roads and demanded an exact time frame for their completion.
The members also alleged the BRO for not following the muck dumping procedures which has created huge environmental deterioration in addition to recurring road blockades.
While answering the queries raised in the meeting Commander 14 BRTF informed that BCT road project would be completed by December, 2021 and told that issues pertaining to BCT and OKSRT roads would be expedited and solved soon.
Speaking on behalf of all the four MLAs of West Kameng district Dorjee Wangdi Kharma, MLA asked the BRO authorities not to disturb the entire stretch of road and pointed out to complete a limited length of road before disturbing the other patches. He further directed to dump the muck in designated dumping sites and asked the District Administration to reschedule the traffic advisories in BCT road for convenience of the commuters and local populace.
DC while applauding the positive outcome from the meeting added that improved and increased men and machinery would definitely help in achieving the target at stipulated time frame and requested the representatives of the organizations to address their grievances to the concerned authorities simultaneously besides addressing to the District Administration for promptness in action.
DC also requested the members present to disseminate the information to one and all in the entire district and not fall prey to any rumours or false information related to Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Bill passed recently which pertains only to that state. DIPRO
