BOLENG, Sep 1: A 320-feet Bailey suspension bridge over River Siyom, on Aalo –Boleng -Yingkiong road, has been completed and opened to traffic by the Border Roads Organisation today.
The date of completion of this bridge was preponed by one month in view of the prolonged road blocks on two important axes leading to Aalo i.e. Likabali – Bam – Along and Pasighat – Pangin –Boleng∕Aalo. The BRO faced extreme difficulties in launching the bridge due to heavy and unprecedented rainfall at the bridge construction site.
The site engineers however were determined to make the Bridge operational by the revised deadline given by their headquarters in Delhi. BRO Engineers worked in extended shifts from early morning till late in the evening and completed this important bridge in a record time of 35 days. DIPRO
