HOJ, Sep 12: Day after the collapse of the under-construction 110 metre span steel (composite) bridge over the Shu river between Mepsoro and Geram villages in Papum Pare's Toru circle, top officials said the collapse was due to bearings failing.
A team of officials led by Chief Engineer (Highway), MoRTH officials, Independent Engineer (M/s Voyant Solution Pvt. Ltd.) and Concessionaire (M/s Sushee IVRCL Arunachal Highways Pvt. Ltd.) visited the site today to take stock of the incident.
The under construction major steel bridge at KVK on Kheel to Hoj section of NH-13 Trans Arunachal Highway at Km 241.095 collapsed due to failure of bearings, informed the Concessionaire.
The 2-lane project including the bridge is still under construction period as per the contract agreement. The bridge is located on a diversion and therefore it was not open for traffic. As such, there is neither any disruption of traffic nor injury caused to anybody.
The Concessionaire has assured to restore the damages and complete the bridge within two months period.
The bridge is part of the project for 2-laning of Nechipu to Hoj section of NH-13 under execution directly by MoRTH.
