ITANAGAR, Aug 24: The All Papum Pare District Border Students Union (APPDBSU) in a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister has appealed for immediate functioning of police outpost, posting of regular Circle Officer (CO) and construction of interstate check gate at Kakoi administrative circle.
The union in a press statement said that the police outpost at Kakoi circle has been non-functional despite its completion in 2016. The non-functional and irregular deployment of police personnel in the area has led to serious domestic as well as inter-state problems.
The said circle was established way back in the year 2002 but till date no regular officer has been posted. The last CO was transferred in 2018, since then the people, especially students are facing problems in the procurement of documents and certificates for various purposes.
Likewise, to check anti-social activities as well as to stop repeated claims over Arunachal Pradesh land by Assam, the union appealed for a construction of an interstate check gate at Raj Ali road.
The union further stated that once all needs are met by the state government, it will not only help the public of Kakoi circle in obtaining official documents for personal use but also ensure no more encroachment over state land by the forest officials of Assam.
