ITANAGAR, Sep 8: A book titled “Yolvga Okkv Yombv” (Kyon Aur Kaise) conceived from NCSTC’s TV serial of the same title in Galo dialect was released today at Arunachal Pradesh Science Centre.
The “ Kyon Aur Kaise”  original version was developed by Vigyan Prasar, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, New Delhi, and edited & translated in Galo by Dr. Pakngu Lombi, Deputy Director, (Technical) APSCST, under the project Translation of Science Popularisation Book  "Kyon Aur Kaise " in Galo language of Arunachal Pradesh. The project was funded by NCSTC, DST Govt. of India, to promote science popularisation in the local language. 
Addressing the gathering, Director cum Member Secretary, Arunachal Pradesh State Council for Science and Technology, Department of Science and Technology, CD Mungyak told that translation of "Kyon aur Kaise"  in Galo language is a step towards popularising science among the general mass. Munyak said that  if communication is done in the local language then pupils will not forget easily what they learn and develop their skills in analyzing issues broadly.

Member Secretary, Galo Language Development Committee (GWS), Yaadam Loyi, in her speech elaborated on the alphabet and vowel sounds of the Galo language. 
Dr. H.K Dutta Director, SRSAC,   Dr. Debajit Mahanta, Project Director, State Bio-Resource Center, and officials from Science & Technology, State Remote Sensing Application Centre and Science Centre were present.
