ITANAGAR, Oct 3: A book titled ‘Tales of Abotani’ was unveiled on Saturday by the author Hillang Taya in presence of Chief Engineer, PHED Er. Toko Jyoti and reporters here at the Press Club.
Having a length of 37 pages and a collection of ten short stories based on Abotani, the book’s first edition will see a print of 3000 copies. Making the release, Taya said the book’s objective is to preserve, promote and pass on the tales of the Abotani to the next generation. “Nowadays, many people talk about Abotani's stories, but do not think about its documentation and preservation. I have tried to document all the stories that I grew up listening to,” the author said.
Congratulating Taya on his book,  the PHED CE said the author has an unlimited knowledge on Nyishi folk tales, parables and flora and fauna including human connection with nature and hoped it would be a gift to the younger generation interested to have a taste of Abotani stories.
The book will be available at Pothighar Book Store, Naharlagun or can be purchased directly from the author.
