PANGIN, Aug 3:A team led by Deputy Commissioner Rahul Singh and consisting of all HoDs of Siang District on Wednesday visited Bogne village to assess the ground realities, amenities and facilities available as the village has been chosen to be developed as a Model Village under BADP 2017-18.

The team inspected the medical sub-centre, the Upper Primary School and the suspension bridge at Bogne which was damaged in the recent rains. The sub-centre was found in a dilapidated condition. They also visited the land donated by the people for future expansion.

During the visit it was observed that many WRC fields and few houses were submerged in the recent downpour as they were in close proximity to the river. Accordingly, EE (WRD) was directed to
prepare proposal to ensure protection of these fields and EE (RWD) was directed to prepare proposal to ensure shifting and rebuilding of such houses.

A public meeting was also held by the team with all the villagers and other stakeholders in which it was decided that the BADP Model Village Fund would be utilised for renovation of school infrastructure and for provision of proper electricity, water supply and toilet facilities in the UPS and the Medical Sub-Centre.

Further the 28 households in the village without toilets would be covered under the Individual Household Latrine (IHH) Scheme of Swacch Bharat Mission to help achieve Open Defecation Free (ODF) status for Bogne.
