ITANAGAR, Jul 24:The body of Nabam Tagap, who drowned in the Papum Riveron Sunday evening, was recovered today at Boroighat area under Behali Police station, Assam.

A former Gram Panchayat Member of Kanebung, Bassarnallo Circle, late Tagap went missing on Sunday evening around 3PM, when he had gone to the river for bathing and fishing.

Villagers searched the river bank at midnight but were unable to trace the body. His body was later retrieved downstream near Boroighat under Behali Police station of Biswanath district of Assam by the locals here today.

The body was brought home by relatives and last rites will be conducted on Tuesday
