ITANAGAR, Sep 9: The state unit of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) staged a peaceful protest against hike in petrol price and other essential commodities at Tennis Court near Indira Gandhi Park, Itanagar today.
“The biggest ever increase in petrol price is affecting the common man with a price hike of all essential commodities,” President BMS Ringu Chapo said while speaking to reporters here on Thursday.
Opposing the steepest-ever hike in petroleum products price, BMS demanded the state government to bring the price of the same under GST Act (Under one nation one taxation), which eventually will curb the increase in price of essential commodities.
The unit also demanded to stop the black-marketing of petroleum products happening in every corner of the state.
“If the state government fails to address our demands, we will go for further democratic movement,” Chapo said.
