New Delhi, Oct 13: Delong Padung, the renowned artist, singer and music composer from Arunachal Pradesh and Ustaad Bismillah Khan awardee has represented the state in the 4-day Repertory Grant Meeting conducted by the National School of Drama (NSD), Union Ministry of Culture here at the national capital.
Padung is the first from the state to be inducted as an Expert Board Member in the NSD-initiated Repertory Grant Scheme, under which financial assistance is provided to the drama and theatre groups, music ensembles, children theatre and other genres of performing arts activities. The NSD is one of the foremost theatre training institutions in the world and the one of its kind in India.
The meeting which started from Monday last will conclude on October 15. Besides Padung, music experts from across the country participated.
