ITANAGAR, Dec 22: After a gap of nine months due to COVID-19 pandemic, capital’s Biological Park, popularly known as the Itanagar Zoo will reopen for visitors from December 23.
The zoo authority has issued a set of guidelines for the visitors that are to be strictly observed right from the time of making entry and till remaining within the compound. As per the protocols, all visitors will be compulsorily screened at the entry gate with thermal scanner and a maximum of 20 visitors will be allowed in one group and only five such groups will be allowed in a single day. No entry will be allowed to those without masks and it has to be put on continuously till making the exit. Visitors with symptoms of cough, cold or fever have been advised not to visit the zoo and those even with slightest of these signs should undergo body temperature scanning and any other such tests at the entry gate. Senior citizens and persons with infants have also been advised not to visit the zoo.
Masks used by all adults and children of seven years of age and above must necessarily cover the nose and mouth. Security personnel and zoo staff engaged at the entry gate and inside the zoo premises will guide the visitors to avoid congregation and advise them to use hand wash/sanitizer provided at different utility areas. All visitors should pass through the medicated foot mat/whole body sanitizer/any such installation fixed at the entrance and they have been advised to avoid carrying luggage, bags etc. While maintaining of social distancing within the zoo premises has been given emphasis, visitors have been warned not to touch the barricades and other surfaces and walk on the designated paths only.
