ZIRO, Mar 30: A training-cum-distribution of fish fingerlings and feeds was organized by the Ziro Valley Charity Mission Society (ZVCMS), Ziro in collaboration with North Eastern Region Community Resource Management Society (NERCRMS), Shillong today at Government Fish Farm, Taren under the project, “Promotion of Fishery and Piggery fattening in the North East India” funded by the North Eastern Council, Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER), Government of India.
A total of 10 participants attended the training programme. Resource person Mihin Tapin, Farm Manager, Department of Fisheries, imparted training on inland water aquaculture including pond management, feedings and fish nursery. He advised the beneficiaries to keep a clean environment of fish ponds with proper pre-culture treatment. He said that the local communities are much thankful to the NEC, Ministry of DoNER, Government of India for funding such livelihood projects and looking for more projects in near future.
Chairman, Ziro Valley Charity Mission Society, RubuTadii, also thanked NEC for funding, stating that it will enhance the socio-economic status of local communities.
