ITANAGAR, Aug 19: A meeting of Guwahati High Court Itanagar Permanent Bench Bar Association (GHCIPBBA) was held on Tuesday to discuss on the formation of a legal team for the proposed consultative meeting summoned by the Chief Minister on the autonomous issue fixed on Wednesday.
In the meeting, the house observed that the legal expert team constituted and headed by Additional Advocate General, Kardak Ete for the proposed meeting was formed without consulting the bar association and senior members.
" Any legal opinion / expression that would be given by the legal expert team headed by the Additional Advocate General at the meeting would be their own personal opinion and the bar association should not be held accountable for their views, ” the house observed.
In the meantime, the members also took serious exceptions at the conduct of Ete for not consulting senior advocates and Bar Association before constituting the panel members that will represent as a legal team in the proposed meeting. Considering the above, the house has asked the executive members of the Association to initiate disciplinary action against him as per bye-laws of GHCIPBBA and in accordance with the law.
The meeting was chaired by Advocate and president of GHCIPBBA, Tayum Son.
