LONGDING, Feb 25: Expressing concern over the low credit-deposit (CD) ratio in Longding district, DC Bani Lego today during the District Consultative Committee meeting issued advice to the banks to prepare strategies to achieve the targets under priority sector lending.
While urging the branch managers to support the movement of SHG-bank linkage in the district, the DC advised them to take help from the officials of the District Administration and other line departments in this regard. Attending the meeting, NABARD’s District Development Manager Kamal Roy advised all the bank branches to conduct financial literacy camps in villages under their areas of operation and create awareness on social security schemes. Stating that the recovery level in the district is not up to the mark, SBI Chief Divisional Manager Rajesh Sonwal urged the branches to seek help from government functionaries and maintain close liaison with them for recovery of the dues.
