Tawang, Dec 29: The 2nd quarterly meeting of FY 2020-21 to discuss the financial activities/performance of banks in Tawang was held today here at the DC’s conference hall under chairmanship of DC Sang Phuntsok participated by the District Level Review Committee, District Level Security Committee, District Consultative Committee of the concerned departments and the banks functioning in the district.
The Lead District Manager, Lead Bank office Tawang read the financial achievement report prepared by the banks. While reviewing the overall performance of the banks it was found that the credit ratio was very low in comparison to other banks functioning in other districts of the state. It was decided that although priority sector loans given to the beneficiaries of the district have increased slightly, bank branches will function as financial literacy centres and conduct at least five financial literacy camps and two digital literacy camps every month. The DC appealed to the banks to come up with CSR activities covering deserving village(s) and individuals so that benefits reach the poorest of the poor in the district.
Potential linked Credit Plan 2021-22 for Tawang prepared by NABARD was also released by the DC in the meeting. DIPRO
