YINGKIONG, Feb 24: After reports suggested power failure as the reason for closure of the State Bank of India, Yinkiong branch, the authority concerned today clarified that it is actually a technical glitch and engineers are carrying maintenance and Bank services will resume within a couple of days.

The main source of Power Supply of Yingkiong township is from Sirnyuk Micro Hydel Station which is under maintenance where cement concreting work is complete and only curing of cement is remaining. But as of now electricity is being supplied from Yingkiong Ph-II hydel with capacity of 2x100 kw only, Assistant Engineer, Hydropower informed.

The bank is closed mainly because the bank’s stabilizer is unable to charge the UPS with Ph-II power supplied by Yingkiong hydel and their DG set is not in working condition, he further said.
