ITANAGAR, Oct 19: Minister, Labour and Employment Er. Tumke Bagra on Monday inaugurated the first-of-its-kind Employability Enhancement Training Course for the non-engineering students of various RGU-affiliated colleges of the state through videoconferencing.
Appreciating the joint efforts taken by the National Career Service (Model Career Centre, Itanagar), Labour & Employment Department, RGU and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) for organizing the event, Bagra also suggested the TCS to conduct such training programmes in near future for covering more colleges of the state. Secretary, Labour and Employment Pranav Tayal informed that the programme will not only impart employability skills but also provide an opportunity for the youths to participate in the TCS placement programme. RGU VC Professor Saket Kushwaha  encouraged the participants to utilise the programme fully for better placement opportunities.
The free-of-cost training conducted by the TCS is a part of its CSR activities which will aim at arming the students of the state with vital skills such as communications, analytical reasoning etc. necessary to face the stiff job market competition. Labour Commissioner Ojing Darung, Head-India CSR-TCS Joseph Sunil Nallapalli, Joint Director of Employment, National Institute for Career Service, Union Ministry of Labour & Employment R. Aswanikumar were among others who joined the inaugural event through videoconferencing.
Around 170 students from JNC Pasighat, IGC Tezu, Dorjee Khandu Government College Tawang, Donyi Polo Government College Kamki and Binny Yanga Government Women College Lekhi participated in the programme. DIPRO
