AALO, Oct 6: Minister for Industries, Textile & Handicraft, Tumke Bagra held an elaborate meeting with the Deputy Commissioner West Siang and Head of Offices on various vital issues concerning development and welfare of Aalo town today.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister took up the issue of TAH in package 8 and 9 and asked the highway authority to make constant monitoring on progress works in package 9 to fulfill the desire of people to have good connectivity. He also took up the issue of PWD road from Nigmoi to Aalo, tapping of electricity from Siru Hydel to tide over the power crisis from time to time, supply of power line to people who are settled in farms, pending PMGSY roads, its maintenance and new proposals, education and health scenario, devolution of power to Panchayati Raj, cluster farming in the district etc.
Stating that crop damage due to monsoon in the district is a cause of concern for farmers, Bagra asked the department to assess all damages and send consolidated report to the government so that it can provide assistance by enhancing the PDS distribution system to mitigate the crisis. All line departments have to work in close coordination with each other to sort out many issues concerning the welfare of the district, he added.

The Minister was quite particular about land encroachment in the town, particularly encroachments of government quarters.
Deputy Commissioner Penga Tato briefed the activities being taken up by him after joining as DC of the district recently. All Head of offices of departments and executing agencies also gave detail briefings on status of works and schemes being taken up by them. DIPRO
