ITANAGAR, Feb 24: A two-day workshop on ‘Pradhan Mantri Formalization of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PM FME) Scheme’ organised by the Department of Industries for the district and Directorate officers concluded today.
Minister of Industries Tumke Bagra while attending the inaugural session highlighted the losses the state’s industrial units suffered due to COVID pandemic and encouraged the DIC officers attending the workshop to work for the revitalization process through greater coordination with other departments.
Secretary Industries Hage Tari emphasized on the need for ‘Atma Nirbhar Bharat’ and the relevance of ‘Vocal for local’ and elaborated on the benefits the state can derive from such schemes. Taking a serious note of the grievances of the officers, he welcomed suggestions on the issue. Nabam Tubin from ArSLM gave a briefing on the activities taken up by the SHGs under ArSLM. Deputy Director Goli Angu deliberated on the guidelines of the scheme and the application process on the portal of MoFPI. Director Industries Taru Talo urged the officers to remain updated on day-to-day departmental activities.
PM FME scheme is an initiative of the Union Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) under Atma Nirbhar Bharat Abhiyan in partnership with the state governments with the objective of providing support to Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs), SHGs, Producers Cooperatives and Cooperative Societies to enable micro-enterprises to avail common services. The scheme adopts a One District One Product (ODOP) approach to reap the benefits of scale in terms of procurement of inputs, availing common services and marketing of products.
It is implemented in coordination with four stakeholders viz. Industries Department as the Nodal body, State Rural Livelihood Mission (SRLM), State Level Technical Institute (SLTI) and State Project Management Unit (SPMU).
