PASIGHAT, Dec 31: The 2nd leg of Brahmaputra Aamantran Abhiyaan (BAA), the adventurous river rafting expedition which will now be on Brahmaputra waters was flagged off today from here by Union Minister of State for Jal Shakti Rattan Lal Kataria.
Secretary, Brahmaputra Board VD Roy, Commandant 12 NDRF Itanagar Rajesh Thakur, Deputy Commissioner East Siang Dr Kinny Singh, SP Rajiv Ranjan Singh, officials of the District Administration and a huge number of local people were witness to the flag off event. After reaching Jonai, the rafting team was accorded a warm welcome by the ADC Jonai.
Traditional Mising tribal scarves were presented to all the rafters and NDRF team members followed by a felicitation ceremony in traditional Assamese style.
